Melchie Dumornay aka "Corventina" countered, equalizing [1-1] in the 3rd minute with a left-footed shot from the center of the box, placing the ball into the bottom right corner after a pass from Anyssa Ibrahim. The Matildas maintained their dominance, despite the Grenadières' fighting spirit, and Caitlin Foord extended Australia's lead in the 65th minute [4-1] with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box, finding the bottom left corner after a decisive pass from Sam Kerr.
